Prodrive Springs

Know of anyone who is riding on these? They were designed to be used with the stock struts, and lower the car a good bit. I want the lowered look, and better handling, but don't want my ride to feel like crap. Will just putting springs on ruin the ride?

I think AUtoinnovations used to do the springs, install and alignment (very important if you lower the car) for $400.

That is a good deal. However, I did my World Rally Bilsteins last weekend, and didn't use the spring compressor on the rears. Probably didn't need it for the fronts either, since I had 3 sets of hands present.

dats a bad good deal for prodrives springs, but for what your getting. its a bad very bad deal.

basically most people can do the install themselves. no spring compressor is needed. the springs dont' compress too much, and will just pop out a few feet if that.

prodrive springs are the best springs out there for wrx, but will decrease strut life.

i dont think its a good deal for what u get because...
a few more hundred bucks..u can get some used coilovers!
coilovers are sooo much better than any strut spring combo, and definately better than any spring.

i look back...and think i should have gotten the coils.
i can drive my car to very high limits, and the body just simply rolls way too much. of course when i first got the springs on, the car did not roll at all. but as driver skills progress...one will quickly see that the springs are simply not enough.

My concerns:

1. I need a daily driver, I test drove a car with DMS coil overs - WAY to stiff not a good daily driver in my opinion.

2. Most coil overs need to be rebuilt, some more than others. I have no mechanic to do routine rebuilds and I don't have the time to take my car in every 5K miles and some of these coil overs need serious attention.

which coilovers? where did u hear that from?

daily driver? then why u get springs in the first place. they will wear out ur sturts and cause u to get new ones...within 20k miles FOR SURE!

if u dont race, track race, autox, ....u dont need any suspensoin mods.

if u want it to look better...and solely for that reason...then get a different spring.
eibach or h&r, cuz prodrive is for performance.

I do go to the track - I also drive my car every day. I also like to do canyon runs. Running the canyons or on the track and my car either bounces all over the place or I have excessive body roll.

I felt springs were a good compromise....

no.
a driver equipped with skills and a good set of tires will out perform a wrx with springs and good tires.
the difference is very very small.

if u want to buy something that will increase handaling significantly....because springs wont do much...then get some STI take offs. they range from 700-900. they handle much better than usdm, cost less for coilovers, and are made for roads (granted that japaense roads are so much smoother...it is still better than coilovers).

hmm...spriungs wont do it...and for the 400 dollar price tag listed above...i would seriously consider the take offs.
coilovers aren't that harsh either...but i see that you have ur mind set on not getting those.

CONSIDER THE TAKE OFFS!
