Pillowballs in a wagon?

Been searching the board for some posts about getting pillowballs in a wagon. Specifically with the Tein Wagon coilovers. What upper mounts have you used (other than stock) to get a pillowball on your wagons.

Or, who else makes a full Wagon coilover setup?

Thanks
Etch

hey there

i used dms co's, and really liked the cusco front solid pillows. i went with the sti in the rear due to fear of noise. i would highly recommend the cusco and the mrt, for sheer fit and finish, as well as reputation and performance.

the teins are nice i have heard, but i am not completely sold on them yet. they do make a type wagon wrx specific co set up. it is mainly height and dampening adjustable. the spring rates are on the softer side, which i think is good. but they are not as adjustable as i was hoping for, hence why i went dms.

i have talked to a few people that like the jic, but complain of the heavy spring rates. i never really had super high spring rates and am very interested in how these cars handle with higher rates. the wagon is definatly "heavier" feeling than my old RS, and my dms spring rates were only 180#'s. But the car stuck like glue, and handled pot holes without any issue.

there are more and more products coming out for the wagon. you might need to get a bit creative to come up with what your ideal suspension set up is. i know i did, but that was back when these cars were brand new.....

good luck

josh

Thanks for the input. Ideally, I'd like to (in the far future) get it all done in one shot (i.e. full CO's with upper mounts all in one set) however, I may go ahead and get some new upper mounts sooner (relatively cheap compared to full co's) and worry about the coilovers when I have SERIOUS cash to spend. Getting new uppipe, turboback exhaust, and tires this month, so cash is a bit short for my WRX fetish. Thanks for the input. I'll look at the Cusco's definitely. How about the STi upper mounts? Good? Bad?

Greg, just get used to the noises that pillowballs make on a car. Constant thums and rattles over bumps If you want a great compromise get the STI mounts.

I just put in some type flex's. clunks on every bump like teiva-boy said but I dont mind. I didnt have any fitment issues being that they are sedan specific but I think that is the same outcome for all the other guy's with wagons on sedan setups. Cusco pillowball mountslook good and are just under $200 bucks a piece.

actually the tein wagons are only height adjustable, not dampening.
