On the Noltec's & Oakos...the free shipping to Sac was a plus as well. Think it only took about 2 days normal snal-mail. The yellow of the whiteline is not for me...even though it's under the car I just thought that the 'pink' stuff I have was already girly enough

We took this pic to document the obvious difference. It wouldn't be a problem on the passenger side, but the driver's side has a specific sized groove and the Noltec just wouldn't fit in.

Yes the Noltec's are wider put mine in today they were a pain but went in..Right before we did mine we installed some Whiteline's in a friend's WRX and were much easier to put in so a little advuce buy the Whitelines much easier but the Noltec's will work they are just more work to put in..

Yup,
mine was the WRX we installed the Whitelines on and it took 30 minutes or less. The Noltecs were difficult. Took about an hour for the same mod. We had to "fight" them. They were difficult on Mach5WRX's car as well. Didn't know better as Mach5WRX's car was the first he, silversatin, and I did. Now after installing the Whitelines, I'd have to say avoid the Noltecs until they sort this out. I have Noltec front sway bar endlinks and no complaints. Their customer service is top-notch also.

I've had the whitelines in my RS for awhile now. The moment you drive after installing them you notice the steering feels more direct and responsive, lane changes and general turn in are noticibly more sharp. The down side I did notice was NVH, but none in a straight line. However when turning and running over bumpy road I can feel a noticible vibration which is the feel of the rack rattling/vibrating around, on big enough bumps you feel the vibrations clear up the steering column to right behing the dash.
But then again I drive very hard and also have a whiteline race ALK contributing...YMMV
At any rate I would not reconsider this mod by any chance. It is definitely worth it, for the money it is a mod that actually makes an improvement and not just noise and harshness. Much more so then say the Subframe Bushing kit for example.
Yeah it is a rather big pain to install them though. Plan on taking some time and cussing alot... A friend helps as well as a lift... Some people have had luck unbolting the rack and letting it hang to get the bushings off and the new ones in...

Loosening the steering rack bolt helps drop the whole thing another 1/2" or so. I found that made the driver's side much easier. The passenger side is pretty simple. The first time I did this it took about an hour. Now I can do them in less than 1/2 hour. It's really not that hard.
