I removed the pads from my 98 outback sport (which I bought w/ >100K mi.), and I have identified them as Nisshinbo brand. They are green in color on the backs of the pads, and have a small 'nb' logo on them.

I googled the brand name, and could find nothing on the quality or type of pads they manufacture. Has anyone heard of these? Are they better than stock, or just replacements? I'm assuming these are not OEM because of my car's mileage, and they have quite a bit of life left on them.
