need some quick-answer brake pad questions

still learning noob here, '02 WRX stock wgn ~25k miles

i'm squealing/chirpping and positive that i need to replace the worn down brake pads. not a lot of cash in the pocket, so i only want to fix what's necessary (upgrades will come later)

1. will the Axxis Ultimate pads (front and back) fit on the OEM brakes? any other suggestions, better ideas?

2. is there an FAQ on how to do this?

3. when puchasing from, the pad set is for each wheel? (looks like two pads to each wheel)

4. how long does the install take (now that the afternoon light fades fast)

tnx-
seus

hunting around i found this thread:
http://www.weblumen.com/subaru/brakepads.html

great job of capturing pad replacement.

now i just need some info on best pads for the cash that fit on the stock brakes... anyone got info/suggestions?

i read that Axxis create a lot of dust and the Carbotech's are less dusty?

Best to inspect your brakes, and verify what you need first of all.
You may not need brake pads at all. I drive my car hard and the pads were fine(worn about 2/3) at ~25k miles and were starting to squeak/squeal a bit.
Brake pads are usually sold per axle, meaning you buy a 'set' for the front and/or a 'set' for the rear. A 'set' will be 4 pads.
The Axxis Ultimates are great street pads, and yes they dust. Good performance sometimes comes at a price, and for the price the Ultimates are hard to beat. You could replace all four corners with Ultimates for the price of one axle of some other pads and have enough $$$ left over to buy lots of pizza and beer for the crew.
