need help with brakes
Hi guys!
Just wondering about brakes for the WRX. I've seen gold color brembo calipers from the J-spec STI, will they bolt on to a stock WRX? How about rotor problems? Will the stock fit? Upgrades? Of course I have to use pads designed for the STI brakes, any other issues I should be aware of? How about the rears? I would love to upgrade the braking system on our cars, I think too many people focus on the power mods, and neglect the brakes, so that's why I'm trying to get some info from you guys!
I'm new to this list, and have seen some pretty impressive posts from list members. I apologize if this has been posted already, but help me out guys! Thanks in advance!!

you might want to refine your wants a little better there.
What do you want the brakes for? Where do you drive your car? Street only? Auto-x? Track?
To start with the stock brakes are good, you might try uprading pads fluid and lines first.
Have you upgraded the tires yet? The tires stop the car ultimately, if you still have the stock RE92s, upgrade, yesterday.
k.

Sorry for the confusion, I know the stock brakes are fairly decent, and yes, I will look into upgrading the lines, and fluid. My point is, why waste money on the lines, which are not cheap, and then might face the possibilty of needing to change them again with the new calipers? I'm saying this because I know just the lines and fluids and pads are not enough for my needs, that's why I ask for help on the brembos.
I only wanted to know what my options are, and whether or not the brembos bolt right on. It seems like a good option considering they're what's on the STi.
I do mostly street driving, and the occasional run in the mountain curves, and believe me, I use up the brakes quite a bit. There's some fade during my "runs" and by the end of the run, it's almost completely gone...not a good thing. I plan to do some track, but not much. Any help from the list would be greatly appreciated!

Oops, forgot to add, yes, I do know the limitations of the stock tires, and I already have stock wheels with Kumho 712, but will change to Advan RCII, with S-03's in 225/45/17. I expect to have great improvements. I currently have Cusco Zero 2 on my car. Thanks again!

The Sti Brembo front calipers will bolt straight on with the 326mm Sti rotors no problem......Until you come to wheels. Not all 17"s will clear the caliper body. You need to check your clearances there.
The rear STi rotors suits the R180 diff (190mm Hand brake) and yours will be the R160 (170mm). This conversion is a pain to do correctly and I would suggest you consider the 290mm rear vented rotor (*** Spec WRX) and O.E STi 2 pot caliper which suits the R160 setup.
