Stoptech makes good rotors at a good price, and they will answer any questions you have via e-mail in good time. I was quoted $95 ea for slotted STi replacement rotors (fronts). You may want to give them a look. Plus, their website has all you ever wanted to know about brakes, and then some.

Cross-drilled rotors are a dumb idea; adonized rotors are the stupidest idea yet. That color will wear off the rotor in about 3 weeks, and look streaky and nasty until it does. The actual function of a rotor is to wear slightly over time! Unless you put super-soft pads on those rotors and drive like a granny, a painted/adonized rotor is worthless.

Why do you say crossed drilled rotors are "a dumb idea?"
I guess Porsche, Brembo, and DBA engineers are "dumb."

Cross drilling results in strees fractures in the rotor around the dimples. Stoptech won't even sell you cross drilled rotors unless you are using them for a show car. The Brembo Porsche rotors have the holes cast into the rotor, so they don't have the same weakness. $50 drilled rotors from eBay are garbage though. I'll be back with a very interesting read on cross drilling.

As promised

Additionally, the reason brembo, DBA, et. al. still sell cross drilled rotors is because people are dumb enough to buy them, just like tuners sell cold air intakes. You don't see cross drilled rotors on sponsored race cars except the aforementioned Porsches, and even then, Porsche goes to the trouble of cross-drilling (actually cross-casting I guess?) only because it's customers expect the bling associated with them. Plain or even slotted rotors just don't look expensive enough apparently.

Go to www.StopTech.com and then click on Product Search. Select "Direct Replacement Drilled/Slotted Rotors" and then it will give you the option to choose Subaru, then 2002, then WRX. The rotors are $95 each, as I was quoted over the e-mail. I tried to link the web page with the search results, but couldn't because of the way their search interface is set up. Here are the part numbers and prices though. Forgive me for spamming up the thread.

Direct Replacement Rotors
Subaru Front Drilled Left, Black

$95.00 - Item No. 50-47018-201

Subaru Front Drilled Right, Black

$95.00 - Item No. 50-47018-202

Subaru Front Slotted Left, Black

$95.00 - Item No. 50-47018-101

Subaru Front Slotted Right, Black

$95.00 - Item No. 50-47018-102

Subaru Rear Drilled Rotor, Left

$83.00 - Item No. 50-47011-201

Subaru Rear Drilled Rotor, Right

$83.00 - Item No. 50-47011-202

Subaru Rear Slotted Rotor, Left

$83.00 - Item No. 50-47011-101

Subaru Rear Slotted Rotor, Right

$83.00 - Item No. 50-47011-102

As stated by the other members, go with slotted, never drilled!

I like the RacingBrake Slotted Street or CG Track Rotors. Had very good luck with them on our Race Impreza and our daily driven Legacy Turbo. Now they have a 4-pot caliper that fits under the OEM WRX Wheels!
