No, driver's side in a recessed compartment in the trunk wall, behind the wheel well - I just looked.

Bonkers.

Do you have an aftermarket sway bar?

I have the same freaking noise coming from my 02 OBS!

I started to hear it about a week after I put in 20mm rear swaybars. I've tighting all the bolts down, and its still making the same noise from the rear passenger wheel area. Its driving me nuts, I hear it when I go over bumps only though.

A problem consistant across the board.????Believe it or not my wife's 01 Land Rover use to do the same thing. Take a hard corner, or a severe bump and the ping noise would ring through the car. It turns out that there was a failure in one of the front springs. Sounds strange, but the construction of that one spring had a defect. Got it replaced and problem solved.

I have an 04 WRX wagon. The right rear seat makes a similar sound. I think it's because the seat is loose on the latch.
