Mixing rotors / pads front and rear

Hi everyone,

I am having my rear rotors machined and new stock replacement pads installed at a midas today because the indicator was squeeling like mad. My front pads (AXXIS) are at about 20% left and the technician says the front rotors are to the point of replacing since they are so worn. I am not having the fronts replaced or worked on today.

My question is, would there be a problem having the rear work done as described, then coming back next month with my own stoptechs or DBA rotors & new AXXIS or Hawk pads for the front? I know its bad to mix tire types, but with brakes, would there be a problem having slotted rotors with different pad types up front with stock spec stuff in the back?
