Leda Suspension
Has anyone heard anything about that Leda suspension on ScoobySport. I am going to upgrade my suspension and this looks like it is decent but would like feedback first.
Thanks

Yeah I looked into the DMS 50mm. Those and the Leda's seem to be the best bet for fully adjustable for street/track/rally but the DMS are sooooo expensive. My wallet is only so big
. But if the leda's aren't that great I will go with the DMS.

Ledas are great for street and track, but do not use Leda's for rally.
A couple years back, when I was crewing for Paul Eklund, he used to run these for rally. Almost every rally ended up with having to get at least 1 strut rebuilt.
Not worth the cost. DMS are better on all grounds (except price)... But you know the old adage, you get what you pay for!

i wouldn't think that it would be a terribly good idea to use any brand of street/track coilover for anything more than smooth course rallycross driving, let alone full on rally racing. some might last better than others, but it would certainly shorten the serviceable life of all of them. comparing DMS rally/gravel coilovers to Leda road/track coilovers isn't terribly fair.

did he use these specific leda's or some other coilover kit of theirs? And do you know of any other coilover kits that are good for mild rally. I am not going to be climbing cliffs with my car, but I would like to hit decent trails with it. And do you know if the ledas are comfortable for everyday driving as well, what about the DMS 40mm. Any help would be great.
Thanks
Stephen

I don't know if these are the exact ones (it was about 3 or so years ago), but they do look similar, with the remote resavoirs and all... At the time it was a very expensive set.
I've ridden on Tein's, they aren't so bad for daily, but strong enough for rallycrossing. the DMS Gold (40mm) set is really nice. here in the NW there are plenty of rallycrossers running on those.
Last season, when i navigated for Richard Buckner, we ran the DMS 50's with the progressive rate springs. VERY strong, and on their lightest setting, almost comfortable enough for daily driving.
KYB AGX's with better springs is also a good, cost effective combo.
GAB also makes some impreza stuff, but i haven't had the opportunity to ride in a car such equipped. I know that some mitsu guys REALLY like the GAB setup.
my $0.02

I installed LEDA coilovers on my 98 Impreza. I was running 18" TR Motorsport Typhoons with Pirelli P7000's with a tiny sidewall. I had them adjusted to the 'softest' setting and they were bearable for every day driving on bumpy sity streets. It made meaware of where every pothole and bump in the road was. BUT they were outstanding on smooth twisty roads and the cars handling could not be matched by other Imprezas.

oh man, if you do a search for DMS on nasioc, you will find so many horror stories it will blow your mind. it shocks me to hear that people actually use them for the WRX. to be honest, the DMS 40s were an afterthought for the WRX market in that they were searching for something that performed like their awesome 50s, but at a lower price point. they quickly designed a strut without testing it, put in into production, and guess what? it failed miserably. they would go a couple hundred miles before they started clunking like mad and were useless. DMS was then swamped with pissed off people with a set of $1600 paperweights sitting in their garages. they had no chance of providing customer service as they had one guy in australia who was supposed to deal with all that. so they now have an office at lachute subaru in canada for the NA market and are trying to fix their image but they've got A LOT of work to do.
