how to get a castle nut off? on control arm

I'm replacing my control arm and I dont have any air tools and I need to know what other way I can get off the castle nut that connects near my rotor

Hmmm I've never tried it without a impact gun. I'm not even sure it will work without one.

First you need to take out the cotter pin.

okay I got the pin and nut off but when I ptu it back on it would tread then it would stop treading and would be loose and I could move it up and down like theres no tread? whats up with that

Does it look like you damaged the threads? Are the threads in the nut damaged or is it just the joint moving around?
