You should get it replaced or fixed. If the boot still has greese inside it then it will last for a while im not sure. But i highly recomend you replace it because if there is no greese the axle can freeze up and it can cause a bad accident if you are driving it on the freeway, or even just going to get some grocery's. When i seen my friends cv boot getting replaced it looked easy. You can do it yourself it is easy but its difficult to take off the parts.

Its a common occurance, dont worry too much about it. Only costs ~$100 to replace the boots on an axle at a shop.

I had the same CV boot bust, well it was the inner boot. I just had the entire axel replaced, good idea to replace the entire thing. Have them get a remanufactured part, it is alot cheaper . Oh and I had a mess of grease in my engine bay, it sucked to clean...
