Forester XT handling mods?
Forester XT handling mods?
I'm looking to improve handling on 2004 F-XT with 17 inch wheels and performance tires, plus possibly front and rear antiroll bars. Any recommendations?
Clarification:
I have not purchased this vehicle yet, but am seriously considering it after the heavy winter weather is over ( I live at 9000 feet in the mountains in Colorado, lotsa snow). I'd like to start out with summer tires in late spring.
I figure 17 inch wheels and lower profile tires would help. Also anti-roll bars (sorry, I still can't swallow the "sway" thing) should bring it to a nice, tight balanced level of handling.
I took one for a test drive, and yeah, the Yokohamas sure squealed and rolled over in the corners.
Has anyone gone this route? I'd appreciate hearing what your experience has been.

I remember seeing a Forester w/ rims and a rear anti-roll bar. According to the owner, it made a big difference. Corners that he used to take at 70 or so was brought to about 90mph. This was on one of the older Foresters though. I'm sure the same mods on the current ones would have a similar affect.
