DBA Rotors
G'day guys,
No spam sessions here.
I haven't been around much lately and I was wondering if anyone has had any concerns or questions regard our brakes.
P.S Shamefully (LOL) I have been working on Audi's, EVO's and the 350Z lately which has taken up a lot of time. It appears everyone is having dramas with high performance braking.
Regards
Steve

actually I have a question. I have a 99 2.5 Rs and I am upgrading the fronts to slotted wrx rotors and the rears to slotted 2000 Legacy rotors. I don't know how it is in australia but basically I want the 11.4 I think it is rear rotors. How much is the rear rotors. I want slotted, and they have to be the same size as the wrx rotors. I hear that you guys were the only ones who made the rear slotteds. Thanks

The rear in question is the DBA 657SL/R (Slotted left/right). The standard U.S WRX rear disc is the DBA 644 which is smaller at 266mm (10.5")
We could be the only supplier of factory produced slotted rotors for this car, I'm not sure. A lot of companies buy from China or Italy and slot them themselves.

I bought my front DBA OEM-replacement slotted rotors from Nino's Auto Accessories. They won't be going on the car until I upgrade tires, front pads, lines, and brake fluid later this year but the workmanship is very nice. I think these rotors will dissipate a lot more heat than the factory pieces.
This is an old thread about DBA OEM-size rotors posted by Nino in the For Sale by Vendors forum, but might be indicative of the relative pricing.

The only pad we have had issues with is EBC Green. There's a compatability problem.

There are many (1000's?) of WRX owners that use DBA 650 slotted in Auto X or Club level track use without issues. We can't recommend these discs for track use because their life expectancy is dependant on driving style and the vehicle power, suspension configuration, ect.
These 650's are manufactured to a high standard using high grade iron and they are heat treated as well. So they aren't to be considered a cheap option, but they are not purpose built for track use either.
My advise is to warm them up and cool them down gradually as you should with any disc and use a quality pad. The majority of cracked rotors I have investigated were used on the track with street pads.

thanks steve,
They are slotted and cross drilled, and I don't do any autox's just road coarse track days...I appreciate your input, I love the rotors, I was just looking at your website and noticed that they had other alternatives that may have worked better for my application.../.
