Question Cusco camber plates???

Hi Guys, I just had a question about the new front Cusco plates I installed because the instructions are in Japanese. Does anyone know if the little graduations are some standard unit of measurement (i.e., .25 degrees per mark or something like that) or just there for looks? While I'm on the subject does anyone have an opinion on a good compromise of negative camber you can run on a street/autocross Suby? Thanks

The marks are there for your reference. They cannot be a constant equvalent of some degree number. The only way they COULD be equal to the a fixed degree number, is on cars that have adustable control arms. Meaning that you COULD adjust the length of the control arm to compensate for the increase/decrease in the length if the shock absorber. And even in that case, you would have to know exactly by how much you need to lengthen or shorten the control arm. Impreza rear suspension with aftermarket adjustable lateral links and trailing arm would be one example.

The marks are there in case you have alligned your car with different settings and you want to be able to adjust it on the fly to preset settings. So you allign your car, take note of the notches, allign it to diff specs, note the notches again.

I love these king of questions. Good one. I'll give you VIP Status for this.

Sorry for going all

I have pillow ball mount and I went to get my alignment done and i don't think those guys know i have a pillow ball mount .. the car drive alright . but when i took the seats out and check the marking . one side is like half a mark off compare to the other side. did they adjusted my camber down at the latheral links ( adjust the camber bolts ) ? is that i mean i am fine even though the marking on both sides are different ?

Wink

the marks on the pillowballs are not always the same on each side. If the alignment guys did touch the pillowballs, it could be off because one side needed more adjustment. If you have coilovers (any ride-height adjustable system), a difference in ride height from driver's side to the passenger's side could induce different camber settings which would require compensation in the pillowball mounts and/or adjustment with camber bolts. There are many things that could cause one side to be off by a little bit ..

You should be fine .. as long as you know what they aligned it to.
