Creaking sound from LF during braking.

Car Info: 2005 LGT wagon
Creaking sound from LF during braking.
Car: 2005 STi
Suspension: TEIN Flex Coil over w/out electronic control thingy.
Symptom: A creaking sound can be heard during braking, almost like a bushing, but definitely metallic in nature. Sounds like it's coming from the lower part of the suspension.
Had the car aligned last Friday & have had the coil overs on for about 2K miles.
Occurs for a second or two after brakes are applied, not continuously while braking.
Is present going forward or reverse.
Quickly checked to make sure all three locking nuts were tight on the shock.
Any thoughts before I start tearing into it?

OK.
Removed the wheel yesterday & rechecked all fasteners, bushings, etc.
The lock nut that tightens against the green spindle mounting bracket was slightly loose.
Root Cause: Torque wrench was out of tolerance. Took it to work & recalibrated it.
Re-torqued lock nut.
Case Closed.
