COBB or Hotchkis 25mm owners...does your bar hit the subframe?

I've had my 25mm COBB sway bars on for the last month or so now. They've been great, but up until a day or two ago the front sway bar started touches the subframe on some bumps in the road and making noise. Curious if anyone else has developed this problem with COBB or Hotchkis 25mm hollow sway bar sets. I'm running a stock suspension on a 2004 WRX sedan. Going to call COBB soon and see if they have any ideas or fixes.

Thanks!

i had hotchkis sway bar set up in the front and rear with endlinks. i didnt use the front sway bar with stock endlinks, but even with their endlinks the front would hit the subframe. i had to extend the endlink far enough so that it wouldn't hit, still having the same problem tho, it helped a little bit, but i maybe i should've raised it more.

Interesting

I have the Cobb sway bars on my 02 WRX. When the car is on the lift the front sway bar will actually touch the sub frame. Cobb said that this was completely normal. As the car came back down off the lift the bar rose completely off the subframe. I would suspect that unless you're getting airborne your bar should not touch the subframe at all. What kind of bumps are you going over?

A lot of 3" exhausts will hit the differential, maybe that's your problem???

Not getting air...just run of the mill dips in the road. Clunks on the rebound back up. Like a metal on metal type sound. I've pulled the subframe off and checked all the bolts. She's on tight...I saw a similar post with Cusco bars. Wondering if something is coming loose. I just am not seeing it though. Here's a pic of my bar where it touches the sub-frame.

I went for the Do-Luck subframe replacement and it clears it perfectly. The poly bushings also needed some greasing and the stopped any other squeeks and noises that may have been left over.

I'm anxious to hear about that subframe too? Is it any stiffer? It sure looks a lot lighter?

It's really hard to say how much stiffer it makes the chassis as I already had front and rear strut bars and the large 25mm COBB bars which made cornering very flat. but seeing the extra bracings underneath and the fact is my WRX feels pretty solid...I'd have to say it's working great. The thing is incredibly light (maybe 5-7lbs at most) over the 20-25 lbs of the stock one. That alone was worth it to me in addition to the extra clearance. They also make a steel version from what I understand, but at a weight penalty, I'm sure.

Where is your splash guard? After doing some research, I've heard some conflicting reports on if that thing fits on your new subframe.

I knew someone would ask that...so I took pics with and without it installed. It fits with it. That was a criteria of mine. It has three front screw holes near the front bumper and two tabs on the side to secure the splash guard.
