Clicking when first stepping on the brakes???

Ok, this only usually happens when my car has been sitting for a while usually in the morning. But as I go forward there is this distinct *CLICK* from both front brakes when I step on the brake pedal. It goes away after the initial click, but if i go in reverse and go forward again it sometimes will CLICK.

Any ideas? MY GF has a honda and it had the exact same sound. The dealership said her shims needed to be replaced. Would this be the same thing???

Ryan

btw, i have an 02 wrx if that matters

Yea, most likely the shims or the pad is just moving on the pins a bit. Nothing to worry about.

Thread jacking in progress....please stand clear.....

I get a clicking when at lower speeds when I depress and release the gas pedal. Under 40 miles per hour. Think this is the same? Sounds like just front right tire. Rotors and pads recently changed. Did it before, still does it. Have Subaru 4 pots.

Thanks.

i work at a honda dealership. all of the newer hondas (03 and later) make a distinct click when u first step on the brakes in park. its coming from a switch that tells the brake light to come on and tells the tranny that ur stepping on the brake so that it will allow u to shift out of park. maybe thats what ur hearing from ur car and ur girlfriends car. we get that complaint alot in the service dpt. where i work.
