Brembo's big problem...
There are several approaches to every marketing situation - perhaps Brembo is trying to keep their product exclusive, and their reputation intact.
The strategy of moving downmarket with lower costs and higher volumes is not always a successful long term strategy.

It can also be the nearly 30% appreciation of the Euro against the US dollar over the last year. Although pricing is coming out of Brembo USA, I'm sure the mother company in Italy wants to keep their margins intact, so prices for most european manufactured or branded products are higher at the moment.

Just installed my rear kit last weekend.

Brembo's are expensive, but as the saying goes, "You get what you pay for!" I've had the fronts on for quite some time and have had absolutely no problems whatsoever. No warping, No cracking, Nothing. I AutoX my car and will soon be tracking it. If you're just going for looks or daily street use, then yes, they're a bit pricey, but if you want a brake set for performance, there IS no better!
My friend from TopSpin design, Stan, can give you a lot more insight on the differences of the brake kits out there. He's been sponsored by Stoptech, and is now with Brembo, and has done a lot of research on both kits, along with Wilwood. He's got an S4 and paid a lot more than we do for our kit...so it's just not WRX's with the "high price"!!!

Would these Wilwood 4 piston rears be a good alternative to the 2 piston Brembos? At 795.00 you could probably upgrade the rotors and still be around the Brembo price.
