Brake squeal

I'm trying to find out what is causing my brakes to make this obnoxious high pitched squealing noise whenever I step on the pedal. It only happens when I first put my foot on the pedal. I had all four pads and rotors replaced only 8 or 9 months ago, so they should be fine. Any help about what might be causing it or how to fix it would be appreciated.

I feel your pain...

Same thing happened to me up until a few weeks ago. Basically, my problem was caused by cheap Pep Boys pads. After a while, I got tired of sounding like a city bus when I stop and swapped 'em out for new, better designed pads. Been running around on these for about 3 weeks now and haven't had any problems since.

An abridged explanation can be found here (the site is for Volvo, but the same principal applies): http://www3.bc.sympatico.ca/Volvo_Books/brake3.html.

If the work is under warrantee, just go back and have them fix it.
