Bad luck on install
it seems that everything i try to do to my wrx results in failure. i didn't think this kind of luck was possible, but trust me..... it is.
i had my ss brake lines installed and this brake shop so they could bleed it all at the same time. turns out, the brake lines(agency) had some type of fitment issue. of course, its my car! 2 lines leaked at install before the brakes were even bled. just can't win, right.... it got worse. so the shop decided it wasn't going to work and installed the original ones back so the car could be driven. well, heres the fine print on a shop install. i was charged with an install, and uninstall. so i took it twice in the wallet for nothing! this car is a thorn in my side now!!
i'm starting to lean away from this car cause it cost too much to get anything done. i'm looking at cars now that have NO performance value at all. so there won't be any temptation on modifying it. anyone interested in an stage 2 WRX(02)?

Most folks order the Goodridge or StopTech stainless braided brake lines. I installed the StopTech front brake lines with no fitment issues.
It helps to have the proper tools like small flare-nut wrenches and a small needle nose Vise-Grip®, among others. I bought two metric screws at Lowe's to make easy work of removing stuck OEM brake rotors using the factory threaded holes to gently drive the rotor away from the hub.
I also have the factory service manuals in book form, in case I need to refer to a diagram or torque specs.
Sorry you haven't had the best time with your installs but planning your installs beforehand makes for less headaches later.

They installed your brake lines, and then uninstalled them. Why are you upset that you paid for the work provided?
And im probably the only person to think this, but i thought the whole reason to get the wrx over the rs or a camry was because not much had to be done to have a wonderfully driving quick car, without having to do a bunch of modz.

yes there was. the lines were not long enough it seems. it didn't look like it would reach the stock mount. in fact, just by trying to get it close, you knew it wouldn't fit. then, 2 or 3 leaked before the brakes were even bled. looks like a fail on install to me. and of course, i called the shop that i bought them from to see if anything like this has happened before, and it would appear that it only happened to my car. rather odd, but ok

I agree with Wingless Wonder.....I have Stoptech lines....no issues what so ever...and perfect fitment. Also, if you learn to work on your own car, you will save yourself THOUSANDS of dollars and many, many headaches. Just make sure you have the correct tools for the job at hand.....the wrong tools will give you major headaches.
also, brake lines are probably one of the easiest installs to perform on your car (next to changing a Cat-back or airfilter, and with the proper tools ofcourse.)

I hope your going to return those brake lines. Even if you can get store credit use that to get what works. Also given how many different parts have been used by our members it wouldnt hurt to get some imput. I use that tool all the time.
Wingless Wonder, do you hapen to remeber what size bolts those holes take on the rotors. I dont have any to try with, and everytime i ask someone they dont remember. So you my saving grace before i get knee deep in a install, and cant get my rusted on rotors off.
Thanks!
