'05 Wagon Spec USDM STi Pinks on a '98 GC8

Is this possible?

If so, what has been done and some pics...could not find a thread here about that specific question.

Was wondering since GC8 parts relatively go to the wagon.

I was looking into something similar. (just $) More like WRX struts/springs onto a '96 OBS. From what I gathered you have to change the top hats in the rear otherwise the strut will not fit. The only problem is that the back of the car will sit a bit lower than the front., which in my book is bad. A good way to go is to find WRX wagon suspension and then just transfer that. (no need to change the top hats and the rear to front height will be fine)

Yeah, Wagon spec springs on GC8 Struts....that was the main idea.

The thing is do I need to trasnfer the whole strut from a wagon or use the stock GC8 ones without changing anything..

So, Wagon rear strut assy will trasnfer to GC8?
Wagon Pinks with GC8 Strut assy...will it fit without dragging butt...?

I would go for the whole package struts/springs. Installing springs with struts that don't match the spring rates is not a good idea. You should be able to just get the whole strut/spring assembly from a WRX wagon and then bolt it in. If you got money to burn you can also get stiffer top hats.

Ah yes, enter logic and the point beeing...

Im being offered a 98 GC8, among the mods it has, it has KYB AGX shocks installed on stock springs...

I have a 05 RS Wagon...dropped with some USDM pinks....hence the switch and sell the wagon...

Yes, yes I know...the wag is da shizz but 5 more years paying a loan is really getting to me...
Gov. is gonna change the tax laws over here and we are not gonna be able to deduct car loan interests in the future...

So, I was wondering if I could swap the springs of the wag to the gc8 without major mods

Thats the whole story.

Dude you guys can write off auto loan interest? That's awesome!

Anyway, here's what I'd do. Sell the STI springs for whatever you can get - $180 - $200 or so I'd bet if they're in good shape. Buy the Prodrive P1 springs for your RS. I just put the P1 springs on my '01 2.5RS with AGX struts and it's AWESOME. I got the springs from MauroMotorsports for like $260 or something. Wasn't too bad.

G'damn I Think I've seen them somewhere for less...

Anyway the pinks are relatively in good shape...like 2k miles on them...

...and yes...we can write it off, but since they are changing the laws, maybe for next year we wont be that lucky and a 7% interes rate for 5 more years is going to hurt....bad..

Yeah...Interest rates on cars are not as low as in the states...hence write offs...
