Most of the parts are interchangeable such as sway bars and springs.

A few differences off the top of my head are ride height, spring rate, alignment angles, and rear stabilizer diameter. The dampers are probably different as well.

WRX has a larger rear sway bar as well.

Which RS are you talking? There are differences between the "new" RS and older models. There are also many differences between the sedan (GD) and wagon (GG). Not everything is interchangable. Rear sway bars are one exception. Front sway bars are not, depending on model, the GD uses a different sway link up front- pillow ball and will not interchange. Front control arms will not interchange from GD to GG or GC (unsure on new RS) as they are different lengths. Rear shocks will not interchange fromt GD to GG or GC- different tops. Some have fitted GC shocks on GD's w/ a resultant overabundance of negative camber. Lateral links will not interchange from GD to GG or GC- different lengths. Almost (almost) all of the bushings do interchange.

I would proceed w/ caution when considering swapping out suspension pieces between the various models w/o first confirming they will work.

Not exactly sure what your asking- GD= WRX sedan, GG= WRX wagon, GC= "old style" RS.

The letter designations can be confusing for sure- in addition there is a third letter desginator to distinguish between the WRX and STi. To answer your question rear struts won't interchange between GG and GC, what's interesting is that front struts (and tops) are interchangable between GC,GD and GG.

It's possible that someone has, some have run GC struts on the GD- but there are some geometry problems associated w/ doing it- extremely large amounts of negative camber in the rear, etc. These are not ideal situations and I would strongly reccomend running the strut that was designed for the particular vehicle in question.

Now if your talking about the new RS (unsure of its letter designation) then its very possible they will exchange as the new RS has taken many design cues from the WRX.

no, I am actually talking about pre 02 RS aka GC

I am asking it since I have a Forester, and I know GC stuts fit in it, but I was planning to put WRX wagon struts

what are the outcomes? I mean I am a suspension noob and not aware of what is negative camber and all rest
If you have some time, could you explain the consequences to me? I will be using it for like year as a temporary solution
