I was wondering what type of timing belt change is needed for the 02 WRX and when ? Sounds like a really stupid question but I was into Hondas/Acuras previously and am totally unfamiliar with the engine. Thanks

 

Subaru's specified replacement interval for the belt is at 105K. When the belt is done it's a good idea to replace other items that are behind the timing cover, such as the water pump and crank/cam seals to avoid duplicating the same labor later on.

 

any idea how much this costs ? Is it more expensive than a Honda timing belt ? THanks
