what up people!!

right about 6 years now I have benn in love with subies . starting from the gc8 type 2.5rs to the 06 sti I luv em all... buit today I finally can afford my own. im looking to buy a wrc blue wrx 5spd, it has 60k miles on it and only has a turbo xs blowoff, 18 inch rims, and tein suspension springs. I have seen it heard it roar but still havent driven it , I wrote here just to hear all of your replys about what you think I should chek on it, by this I mean what to watch if broken or working properly,what toi feel on the steering or ect... the flaws or deffects or anything...

The blow off valve isn't an ideal mod, do some searching and you'll find most poeple would advise against it. Make sure you do a thorough check of the entire car for body/paint work or take it to a body shop to see if it has been in any accidents. Don't trust carfax as many accidents can go unreported. Check under the hood as well and ask the owner what mods have been done to the car.

 

done that, its paint is gorgeous, no scratches or anything, I asked the guy and he said that he did not mod anything more than that blowoff (for the psssss, I guess), the suspesion for the looks, and the sound system, and a jdm sti grille, he said that as a daily driver he just wanted a reliable car. but who knos, he just wants to sell his car.... Is there anything else I should chek technically to know if the car has been abused or driving it anything I can notice thats damaged or wrong?, heard the tranny of 02-03 an ****ty so how do I know this one is or isnt broken?

The trannies are known to be weak but poeple have stock 02-03 trannies with 100k+ on them and they're still fine. It all depends on how it has been driven. Take a picture of the engine bay and poeple can tell you if they notice anything irregular.

 

Ideally you should look for a wrx that is stock. You dont want somebody's mess. If hes been running a BOV that car runs rich which isnt good.
