What am I missing?

I'm stumped...with the front wheels off the ground and the transmission in neutral, I should be able to rotate the front wheels freely, right? However, the left front (haven't tried it w/ the right front yet) will only spin through about a quarter turn before it stops solid. It spins easily before it actually comes to a stop, so it's not the pads dragging, I don't think. Thanks for any suggestions.

I would think the diff is locking and trying spin the rears for traction, but since they're on the ground you probably can't spin em. I mean, if you were a tow truck it wouldnt' be a problem, but as a single person, I'd imagine it to be pretty tough.

I assume you are talking about a manual transmission WRX? You have to specify your make and model, different Subaru models have very different drivetrains.

In the case of an AWD model w/ manual or auto, the answer is NO. By putting the car in neutral you disengaged the engine from the tansmission, but NOT the differentials from each other. This is why you cannot tow an AWD Subaru with one set of wheels on the ground, EVER.

i had heard there is a fuse that allows the subaru to be towed as a fwd car? I'm unsure to the location of this fuse. I'm sure a web site like subymods has the proper information though
