Unhappy Turbo problem

HELP!! I had smoke pouring out of the exhaust and thought I blew the motor. The dealer pulled off the turbo and found the turbine broken off. (it's a bit bent out of shape) Does anyone have a clue what might have happened here. I don't have any real serious mods but could be questionable to a dealer possibly. I'm waiting for a call back from the dealer.

If you touched the up-pipe you are screwed... if not, maybe the catalytic lost a chunk into the turbo.

How many miles/ mods/ and all that jazz?

Turbo

26000 miles
Perrin up and down pipe, BOV, boost controller. I'm not sure what any of these can do to cause damge to the turbo. i've had it this way for a while and had no problems at all. Until now that is.

boost controller

If you changed the boost from the factory settings, you have basically no chance of getting this replaced under warranty. Even a BOV or up-pipe can often result in a dealer refusing a warranty claim.

Don't mean to be the bearer of bad news here.... You may be able to try a couple of dealers, and see if one is willing to bend the rules for you, but as far as playing by the rules go, SOA won't honor a warranty claim on a turbo that's pushing more than stock boost.

Even without the boost controller, they would probably be wary. They don't know how well the pipes were installed, whether smeg went through the turbo as a result of the install etc. There's no harm in asking, but they'll probably say no.
