Transmission whine noise
I have a 2002 WRX with 30K miles on it. Lately I hear a high pitched whine coming from the the transmission the whine pitch noise gets louder when driving highway speeds. I also hear a howling noise coming from my rear end when i'm going 40-60 miles per hour. I took in for service and they think it is either the viscous coupling or the bearings and I'm to bring it back in few weeks. has anyone else experienced these noises and had it repaired and if so, what exactly was the problem.
I do drive aggressively sometimes, but I still have my original tires, with no mods and I don't drop clutch.
Thanks
