I am trying to sell my 2002 WRX wagon privately, but no luck. It seems I will have to trade in. If you trade in, you only get taxed on the difference, right? Then is not that bad. I just hoped to get more $$$ privately. I only got 14,200 miles on it even though it is an '02. Never drove it during winter, and boy, do I baby it! I can't wait to see the changes on the '05 to see if its worth the wait.

I just did the same thing Nick, my '02 is now gone replaced by a used (only 4000 miles) Silver STi. I wasn't too keen on the looks when they first came out, but now, I'll never look back at the bugeye. And the car is completely different, much much better, and I had a Stage 3 wrx so it wasn't a slouch.

Wait for the '05s. They will be out before long, and there is a lot of speculation about minor changes that, if true, will make it worth the wait over buying an '04.
I think I'll wait a few years to trade in my WRX for an STi.
currently I don't have the funds to have a major lost on the trade-in of my 04 WRX.
I will first pay the car off then save some so I have a big chunk of $$ for the downpayment of the STi.
As of right now I'll just enjoy my WRX.

i sell subarus, but always mention for my customers to make a "sound" judgement.
my clear advice to all suby sti "prospects" don't bury yourself unless you can justify the real reason. if u can afford it then do it. if u already have a wrx. . . keep it. . . .enjoy it. . . then when u have enjoyed it long enough... shop. subarus have the luxury of being one of the best cars in terms of holding value(versus other cars)
