I understand your sentiment, but easy to say when you live in Nevada. I can't drive it 5 months out of the year here due to salt usage in winter, and the fact that posi differentials really don't do anyone any favors in snow/ice...

Especially with the amount of torque I get out of the 396.

Had it for 7 years...

It might be time for a change.

just do whats been done with the two my family have garage it. they will never loose value. its just a shame to let something like that go. Thats just my thoughts on that classic. But hay I've seen 68 ss's go for 20k depending on condition. I'd love to see some pics of it.

If I figured out how to load .jpg's, here you go. Apologies if I screwed it up somehow.

Freshly rebuilt 396 and 12 blot rear with Richmond Overdrive Trans (6 spd), Needs paint and some body work. Everything else has been fixed/rebuilt.

Look for financing first, as the knowledgable people have already wisely advised. If the dealer can beat that with their own financing, then so much the better.

When I was testing the waters earlier this year, I got online price quotes on specific '04 STis from in-stock inventory at three dealerships. None were over $31.5k but the northern CA favorite dealership Subaru of Santa Cruz had the one I was looking for a quote of $29.5 (excluding tax and license). Unfortunately, due to other circumstances, I wasn't able to take advantage of this deal. You might consider doing business with Subaru of Santa Cruz - it's the crowd favorite in the Bay Area (BAIC).

EDIT: You might also contact the guys local in your area, SECCS.org, and see what sort of deals they found. Among them are some STi owners.

santa cruz is sold out of STi, they wont get any new ones (05 model) until the 17s of this month. and i think every single one they get is already spoken for.

I know, and it'll be hard to get as good of a deal on the '05s until the supply has caught up with the pre-orders.
