I use the Denso iridiums. They are expensive but worth it.The NGK iridums are cheaper(price).Platinium is good for longevity, but not performance.Platinum is not a graet electrical conductor.Copper is good but has to be changed more often because its a soft alloy.Iridium is the best of both worlds.4x as hard as platinium and 2x the melting point but less resistance than copper=more spark at the plug.

...hardness would not help sparkplug life, only resistance to electrochemical breakdown would. Hardness is a marketing ploy. Iridium do last longer, but it has nothing to do with the hardness of the material.

Hardness is what keeps the gap intact. And yes it has everything to do with why they last longer.

Depending on the tools you have i would say its a good 1hr-1.5 hour job.Make sure you have a good sparkplug socket(bushing intact/inside).The bushing/grommet is what holds the plug in the socket.

I ordered mine from www.sparkplugs.com and they arrived quickly and were well packaged. I highly recommend them, as some plugs are hard to get from auto retailers.
