Companies like Peak make an extended life coolant that does not have to be replaced as often as conventional coolants. You might want to have a shop professionally flush your cooling system for residue before refilling with an extended life coolant.

In most states you can no longer just drain the radiator and allow the coolant to run into storm drains. Coolant is toxic, poisonous to humans and animals, and contaminates drinking water.

If you use an extended life coolant, consider replacing your radiator hoses with silicone and fiberglass-reinforced hoses by Samco or other manufacturers. Factory hoses degrade over time and with use - if they develop a leak, you'll lose your long-life coolant.

Peak Global and Prestone All Makes/All Models can be used. I've used both with good results. You can get them in a 50/50 premix so you don't have to bother with mixing and getting distilled water.
Although these are both billed as extended life coolants, it's best to continue to follow the recommended drain intervals. Any standard coolant remaining in the system (and some always does) will "void" the extended drain rating (read the container), and our cars aren't designed from the factory for it.
