Purchasing a Subaru tomorrow and had a question....
I can afford to buy the WRX but I have been reading some articles within this site about the 2.5i vs the WRX. I am just going to be leasing it and not planning on modding it at all. I haven't even driven the vehicle but I have driven my friends 05 92x and an 03 wrx. I know the 06 has a smoother power band now and more trq etc... What do you guys think I should honestly do .. now I am lost. What octane does the WRX use? 91? I have a full size truck getting 16 miles to the gallon so any help is good... I know the WRX prob gets around 20 mixed? I do a lot of freeway driving ... someone just reassure me buying the WRX or vice versa -- either way I am getting an Impreza

If you are leasing and not going to do any mods the WRX will be fast from the get go. The 2.5i will be MUCH slower.
Yes, with mods the NA engines can be quick (not fast). Bone stock you will not enjoy the big difference between the two after driving your friends WRX's. Get the REX.
Oh, I own an NA and get happier with it each mod I do... but if your still on the fence you need to drive the 2.5i.

okay well it looks like I will be leasing the WRX tomorrow ... only thing on the car that I don't want to pay for is the spoiler but oh well. So it looks like wednesday I will be part of the Subaru family , I am really excited. Since it is a lease looks like I'll be tinting the windows and that is about it.
depending on where u live, the lowest octane u should put in a wrx is 91. If u have access to 93 octane, then use that instead. Basically u need premium gasoline. Assuming u don't have a lead foot, your gas mileage should be in the 20-25 mpg range
