Now that the 05's are out...

Now that the '05's are out, what do you guys think is a fair price on an '04 WRX with Premium Package? 22, 23, 24K ? I am going to try and trade in my Prelude tomorrow and want to get a great deal on an 04 WRX. I am thinking 22k OTD, or is that just crazy ?

Any thoughts would be greatly apprecitaed - Thanks !!

With the premium package MSRP is like 26k-27k. I'm sure you can probably get it for 25k. Check out www.mastrowrx.com, they have some of the best prices I've seen.

Well, invoice right now on the 2004's is about 23.9K with the premium package, but being that the dealership I am going to has 16 '04s gathering dust because the 05's are on the lot, I figure they can do better than invoice. Much better if they are desperate to get rid of some of thier overstock.

Yeh, hopefully they'll give me a great deal. I am quite the negotiator, so the sales rep is in for a treat. : )

Man, an 05 Legacy for 25,8K, that's a damn nice price man, good job !!
All I have to say is that this day in age, this is a consumers market.
You can get whatever you want for a reasonable price, it just may
require some time and patience. I have been patient, so maybe I'll luck out
this time. I am in a lease right now, so that makes it a little more difficult having
negative equity. But anywho, keep your fingers crossed for me. I have grown tired of my Honda and all it's NA bs, I am ready for some FI *****'s !!

Well, everything went as planned, I got the car without premium package for
a BAD *** price, so needless to say, I am now the proud owner of a 2004 Silver WRX. : ) Talk to you soon !!

I got it for 23K out the door, so about 22,3K before TTL. I also had a trade-in, so I only paid the taxes on the differnce between my trade and the price of the WRX. It doesn't have the premium package, but it's got the security system and the compass-auto-dimming mirror thing, and spoiler. Man, I love this car already !!

As far as the 05's, they are going to be about 2 grand more than the 04's since they are new of course. I looked at the 05's, but figured the minor changes weren't worth the extra 2 grand I would have had to pay, so I opted to get the 04 - which I am very pleased with. If you want an 05, go to Edmunds.com and
get the invoice price of one, keep that number in your head, and tell the sales guy you won't pay more than invoice. Of course, they'll grin and say no, then at that point, get up and say" Here's my number, give me a call when you can hit this price". It might take a day or two, but they'll call...I can almost gaurantee it. : )
Also, another smart thing to do, is bypass the sales rep all together and deal with either the sales manager or the fleet manager, they can pull more strings than any sales rep. Good luck !!

Yeh, there is a 1000 rebate on the 04's. I pretty much got the
compass mirror and security system at no charge, so I paid for an
'04 with spoiler. And yes, you can install an aftermarket alarm, and
it will void no warranties what-so-ever.

My trade-in was a 2001 Prelude, with 27K miles on it. And yeh, they went
over it pretty well and drove it around and checked everything out.
It's worth about 13k trade in, which is what they gave me. And you said you
car is on it's last wheels ? In that case, you can figure that they'll probably
give you at least 2K for it.
