I just got a 96 Legacy Wagon this past week. The lights to illuminate the climate control buttons are burned out. I have not been able to find any in my searches to find them for sale online. Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to purchase these little bulbs? They are 3mm wide and 10mm long with two 8mm wires coming off the base. Looks just like a small christmas light. Any suggestions would be helpful.

best bet for you to get those bulbs would be just to go to your closest subaru dealer's service and parts section. Allmost garanteed that they will have them. dont think they will charge that much for them either. Youll save shipping and handling anyway

 

Ah yes the climate control lights. Replaced those in my brothers 96 Legacy Outback. There are small aircraft type cables that connect to the sliders that control the temp etc. If you can, becareful not to unhook those. They are held on by small split washer type things that are a major pain to get back on. Hope that warning is not to late. I have only found the lamps at the dealerships. A few bucks a piece. Buy extra, his burned out again in like three months. grrrr.

 

burnt out in three months? sounds to me like they either used the wrong type of bulb or there is a problem with the wireing.
