Need Suggestion On Dash Cleaner

I was just wondering what kind of cleaner you guys use on your dash? I used armoral(sp?) and it sucks! The fumes leave this film on the front windshield that you have to wipe off. Pain in the a**!

I've read on these forums before that Armoral has alchohol in it which will acutally eventually dry out and crack your dash. I have a nice McGuire's that I use every now and then but for my weekly detailing I just use and damp lint free cloth and wipe it down. I'm not a big fan of the shiny dash though. Hope this helps.

By far the best product to use is Armour All Cleaning wipes. I am not a fan of the shiny dash/trim look. These wipes clean the surface of dirt and do not leave a film of any kind. When you are done it makes to trim look brand new w/o being shiny.

Armor All is a disgusting oily film that sticks to your dash like glue -- before you switch to another dash cleaner, you need to strip that junk off first. After some yahoo at the car wash SOAKED my dash in the stuff, I soaked a washcloth in water and then squirted it with a little dab of Dawn dishwashing liquid and scrubbed down the whole dash; it broke up the greasy armor-all and stripped it down. Now I just use a slightly damp microfiber cloth to get rid of the dust and leave a nice natural finish. 3M makes great microfiber dusting cloths (find them in the cleaning stuff section of any grocery store).

If you MUST use a cleaning product, stop by Autopia Car Care and check out the "Cockpit" cleaning supplies; any of the Euro stuff is gold in a bottle, those snotty Euros sure know how to take care of a car.

Personally to keep my dash looking new i use turtle wax 2003 formula cleaner/shine *shrugs* stuff works very well. Just spray the stuff onto a rag and wipe it off if you don't want the crud on your window.

Used to use it on the 4Tracks ATV before it was sold and in the elements it generally lasted a pretty long time
