MPG went down...

I got on avg about 23 mpg in my 03 wrx, I replaced the battery and used some fuel system cleaner, and now I get about 18 mpg. Is something going wrong w/ my car or can doing the above cause this?

what time span are we talking? was it one tank or has it been several. fuel injector cleaner shouldn't really affect mpg, if anything it'll give you better mileage.

I'm on about the fourth tank. I've been getting a consistent 18 mpg a tank ever since I added the cleaner.
