Looking for a Subaru Wagon

Hello,
You folks came recommended form my Miata.net buddies, so i'll post my question here.
I sold my Cadillac DeVille last Spring, and now my 91 Miata is my only car. I'd rather not drive the Miata in the snow, which is why I need a second car (actually, I don't like driving the Miata with the top up at all..
. I would like to add a Subaru to my driveway as my snow/grocery getter. What's required is a wagon and automatic. I recently came accross a 97 Imprezza Outback wagon with 140k miles. Can you folks tell me what to look for on this car?
It needs to be a wagon, because I'm a photographer, so I need a place for my gear. I also like the occasional mountain bike trip.
it's under Blue Book, but in this area that doesn't mean anything because there is so much compitition. Can you guys help?

Rear wheel bearings. They were a problem up until 2001 I believe. I had a 2000 OBS.
Take the car out for a drive and really listen for any rythmic mechanical sounds coming from the back.
Other than that I'd say just look for the typical used car things. Fluids dripping, tire wear, body panels not exact color or fit.
That car with a good set of All season or winter tires is going to be great snow car. I absolutely love my subie. I look forward to snow days now

Took it for a drive during my lunch break. Looks like the original paint, with out any tell-tale signs of body work or a repaint. Drives good, brakes good, rides good. I noticed 2 things: a slight oil-burning smell (the kind when there's an oil leak on the manifold) and some lifter noise. If I wish to pursue the purshase further, I'll have to get it checked out. But for the mileage, it's in great shape.
1 thing I got going for me if I want this car, It's been on their lot for awhile. When I went back to look at the picture, online, all the leaves on the tree still green.

Chances are its a good car. Its not a neon or cavalier.
Just make sure to take advantage of the lemon law (do they have that in VA?) for all the stupid little problems you can think of.
