Good Luck!
Don't even consider an '05 WRX over an '06 WRX (even if you HATE the new front end). The 2.5 engine, 17" wheels and tires as well as the upgraded brakes (disc and rotors) makes the '06 simply too good to pass up. Just my .02 cents ~ and I sell 'em!

Car Info: 2006 WRX Wagon
I just picked up a 06 WRX Wagon a few weeks ago at Santa Cruz Subaru. I decided to get one there after being hastled by Steven's Creek Subaru, jeez I hate that place. Anyways, I was all for an 04-05 until I seen the 06. Trust me, they look soo much sportier in person than the rest, and as NW OBS said, The 2.5 engine, 17" wheels, and upgraded brakes are definitely much too good to pass up.
lol, my snowboarding skillz has jumped because of this car. I get sooooooo pumped to drive that bad boy I end up in Tahoe every weekend.

the 2.5 liter keeps bring me back to the 06... ill have to extensivly test drive both i think.
Drive both and you will buy the '06... don't forget it's not JUST the engine. You get 17" rims and tires and upgraded brakes. You can always ditch the 4 seasons and still be ahead of the game with 'summer tires' on there.

In this case there is only one choice. The '06 and live with the new face. The suspension goodies and tires can all be used offf the '04-'05 and by the time you get that sorted, the other items will begin to flow from the tuners!

From a Subie salesman that drives all the beast on the lot, almost daily (including EVO's).

hahahah.... ya know... The 04-05s are starting to look a bit dated... have you ever seen an 06 STI in person? They are pretty slick.

My problem is that I can't see spending 20K for a used car when I have gotten a price of $22,999 for an 06 WRX.....Not the TR BTW.

Bigger engine, bigger wheels, better brakes, tweaked suspension.... I really liked the 04-05s until I drove an 06... the difference in power response alone is worth the difference... I mean you aren't going to be looking at the car when you are driving it, and you zip by people so fast that who gets a chance to look at it....

One of the coolest things about the WRX is that only people who know the car understand it... It's really nice blowing by idiots in their clunky new BMWs.

Did you know that the WRX holds its value pretty damn well too? Compare it with a Lexus IS 300 of the same year... those things go for like 30K and the Bluebook price is at most 2K higher than the WRX... so anyone who tells you a Subaru is a sh1tty investment better not own a lexus hahaha..

Theres my $5

Well, now I wouldn't go as far to say that BMWs are "clunky" lets be fair now... They ARE built better... Doesn't necessarily mean they will provide the same driving nirvana... but to call it "clunky" would be an ignorant statement...

Now those foo-foo plush mercedes....? THOSE are "clunky"!

whoa how'd you get 23k for the 06 WRX, im looking at 26500 OTD and that's actually the lowest of the 5 dealers around me, the others wanted 28k, 27500 (in LA about 1 hr 15 min from me), 29600, among others around there... for that price im thinkin of lookin at something else although im considering the 26,500 offer. How'd you get 23k i want it for that price! whoa
