how bad is it to be going 80 MPH and what is affected?

wat do u mean by bad? like bad as in ur gonna getta ticket or, bad for ur engine? Your engine should take it np - its prolly at the top of 3k rpms the whole time huh? tats not too good..getta bigger turbo =D.

yah i mean for engine/transmission wear and tear im in a huge argument with someone over it because i blew the transmission (and XD is a face type i use alot because im retarded lmao sorry its a habit) on one of my subaru's it was a 1990 subaru legacy he blames me because i go to fast quite frequently. but i tell him its because it was so old even for a subaru

80mph usually doesnt do anythign but kills gas faster.

i dont think the 80 mph constantly would be bad for it..

just wear and tear, which comes from driving.. not from the speed necessarily...

Driving on the freeway at a constant speed is probably the easiest thing for your car next to having it sitting in the garage.

No Problems

Having owned a 1990 legacy I can say that driving 80 mph is no problem for that car. I drove it all over the place; freeways, roads, working rally stages and the only problem I had was replacing the CV boots on the right front axle and the engine head gaskets went bye-bye on the way to Phoenix. The transmission never gave me any problems after 250,000+ miles of driving.
