i need your help to get an sti for 27000
This dealer was trying to tell me that they pay way more than 30,000 for a new 05 sti and I told him he is nuts. the car was almost 34,000 dollars msrp plus he wanted to charge me extra to put in the auto dimming mirror. he said that they never sell anything below msrp unless you are on the vip because they pay so much for the cars. i told him i heard of people that get it for just under 30k and he said that i was lying. he said that if i prove to him that the dealer pays less than 30k for the new 05 sti that he will sell me the car for 27000 dollars. Can someone please tell me if I was correct and give me some proof or evidence what the dealer really pays so that i can get this sti. The place i am talking about is Subaru of Schaumburg which screwed me over plenty of times and from what i have been reading, others too. I would love to make them lose just a little bit of money so can someone please help me?

go to kbb.com or edmunds.com. That'll give you a rough idea of what the dealer invoice vs. MSRP is. There may be some people on this board with better info. Also, if you can get this car for 27k, let me know, I had to haggle like a **** just to get $500 off.

those sites dont have 05s yet plus i know that dealers dont pay invoice for cars. they pay a little less than invoice, so i haveheard. anyone that can help? please? i wouldnt mind if he told me that this is a new car and they dont want to budge on the price. but when you flat out lie to me, i get pissed. there is no way that a dealer pays more than 30 for an sti and sells it for only 2 or 3 thousand profit. i dont like liers so i would like to take this guys paycheck and teach him a lesson and get myself a new sti for a steal.

If you can find that info, i would want it too...I would really doubt you will be able to get an 05 STi for $27K...the people getting STi's for under $30k were prolly getting 04's...the best price i have ever heard on an 05 STi was MSRP + tax, license, etc...and MSRP is around $33k with NO options...then again, i am out here in Cali, so demand is a bit different...good luck
Oh yea, and i know you already know this, but demand really makes it hard on people like you and I who dont wanna pay MSRP for this thing...when the 04's first came out, people were even paying a markup over MSRP for the STi....so you can expect the same situation for the 05's and if you dont like, which i dont, we will have to wait....

I understand that the price jumped a grand from last year. But it is still hard for me to believe a dealer would pay more than 30 for the car. Can anyone give me proof that the dealer actually pays less than 30? even if it is 29999. I am not looking for the price they sell for or what invoice is or anything like that. What is the dealer price that they pay to obtain the vehicle and sell it? if i can prove its under 30, i get the car for 27 at the salespersons loss.
You will not find anything on the 05 STi's...they are too new...and like he said above, you will never get anything in writing either...however, IMO i do not believe that the dealer paid over 30k either...msrp on an 04 was $28,695 or sumthing like that, so adding $1,000 to that would be less than $30k still...good luck with ur search...

good luck. with that price of 27k u will have better luck on an 04.
go to subaru.com and u will see that the msrp is higher than the 04 models.(due in part that the rims are now 8 in and they have a stereo(panasonic) and the keys are also chipped. . . and the e-brake/dccd controls have been relocated. we now have a u.s. spec e-brake

hope that helps.

however no dealership in their right mind will send you a document showing u their cost. its like circuit city sending costs of their products to customers. its just bad business practice.
like i said above. . .costco programs require we disclose our actual cost(when car is selected and commitment to buy is consumated).
hope that helps too
