High insurance costs!

High insurance costs!
I've put about 5k miles on my 2005 Wagon since I bought it in October
and I love it but I do have two complaints.
The stock tires suck in the snow. (I got Dunlop M3s on steel wheels
from Tire Rack for under $700 delivered and they are great)
The insurance turned out to be really high on all Imprezas. For 2002
and 2003, it was a symbol 17. (not too bad) For 2004, it was a 19.
(getting pretty bad) For 2005, it is a 23! (the highest you can be
is a 27; give me a break) The worst part is my insurance agent
quoted me a symbol 17. That was a nasty $400/yr. surprize when the
increase became known. Make sure when you get quotes that they are
for a 2005. (both symbol and rate) The lowest Impreza now is a
symbol 19. This is going to cost Subaru a lot of sales.

Well, I played with the idea of getting a Civic to save money, until I found out how much CIVICs COST TO INSURE!!! If I sold my '02 wagon, Allstate wanted more money to insure a freaking Honda Civic, Pontiac Vibe, etc. From what I gather, you get hosed no matter what you own, as long as it's new.
