Hi Folks - thinking of buying a Scooby - advice?
Hi all,
i'm the proud owner of a Rover 220 Coupe Turbo, and i'm looking around for a Scooby Turbo Sportswagon for the other half.
can anyone point me in the direction of some pictures of forum members 'wagons'
she wants to know what they look like side on - so i'm trying to find any good pics.
also, not entirely sure of good/bad points of these and what to look out for.
any help will be gratefully appreciated.
cheers,
Matt

Use the Search feature in the Gallery forum to find pics of wagons.
Wagons are much more practical as far as carrying cargo. Downsides are minor - slightly more weight, fenders are not flared as in the sedan so fitment of wider tires requires more care.

yep, i live in the UK.
didn't realise this was an American forum!!
I don't suppose you see alot of Rover Coupe Turbo's out there then?
and do you refer to Subarus as Scoobys?
I have seen a couple of Sportswagons (2.0 turbo) for sale.
do you know if the engines are strong in these things?
I'm interested in getting a boost controller to increase the pressue a bit and don't want to go melting the pistons or anything!!

I have not seen any turbo rovers here at all. Yes we refer to them as scoobys and the engines are quality. The block is not iron so dont expect to throw massive amounts of hp in them but they are a good engine.
As far as boost controllers go, I have the Apexi AVC-R electronic in mine. It is, in my opinion, the best electronic bc out there. I would get an electronic over a manual for the ease of use. I also pull a lot harder in the top gears over the manual because you can increase the duty, or air flow, in each gear to fit the power curve. It is a lot of fun!

Fun, power, MORE than enough room for everything you want to do in it, shopping, home improvement store, (yes it even gets borrowed from the other half on occasion), the trips to Best Buy for electronics in the rain I've even transported a wedding cake to the Reception!!!!
Very functional yet not sacrificing fun! I love being able to have available power to get over and use it on entrance ramps on the freeway. Not to mention the look on other drivers faces when they realize what a wagon is capable of. I am very happy with my investment and that is what it is. It holds its value very well. I was looking at used Subarus for a while and decided on a new one and have been very happy with it ever since.
