Unhappy Help!! Turbo and exhaust questions and stuff! Long Story Need Ansewers.

At about 34k miles i had my turbo, uppipe, and radiator replaced. The dealershipped told me since it gets so hot here in southeasttexas that was what caused the problem. The radiator was leaking from the top and my uppipe had melted and my turbo went bad making a hollow rattle noise and having poor performance. I try not to run the car too hard. Every great now and then ill race sumone or do sum rallying. But even then i dont push my car to the limits. I change my oil every 5k miles with 10w-30 mobil 1 super syn. Ok i believe the problem might have begin when i got my car back from the first time it went in. I believe that they did not tighten the spark plugs all the way which cuased one to get loose while i was driving and my car started to drive really bad obviously. so i pulled in a parkin lot and popped the hood and i could hear a tickin noise and i looked at my turbo and since it was i night i could see the whole exhaust housing was glowing so i turned my car off and left it for a tow truck. When we went to pick it up at the dealership the next day, thats when they told us about the spark plug and they said that is just somthing that happened over time. That it shakes it self loose. Now 3 months latter i hear the same rattle noise from my turbo and after 5k rpm under heavy acceleration, it boggs down and i hear a bunch of popping noisies. The only mods i have on my car is Greddy Type-S BOV and a Gutted stock DP. I took it to the dealershipped because they have a 1 year warranty on turbos and they said the would fix it. When they checked it they said they did a "Test" and the turbo checked out find. As for the rattle noise, that is the heat shield not tightened down. And the guy looked so rediculous tellin me that it was my heat shield because he was puttin all his weight on it to bend it and make it tap the turbo. As for the acceleration problem that is the gutted DP. He said the ecu is not ment for that and i would need to get it reflashed to fix that problem. All this took about 12mins with my car up on a lift and NO parts removed. I feel like this guy is lyin to me... how about u guys. Hit me up with sum info im kinda a newb. heh.

Sounds like you are having some serious problems. I would take it somewhere else. A gutted downpipe wouldn't cause that sort of thing. I know people run turbobacks without any engine management with no problems. Get a second opinion while the turbo is still under warranty.

if its an 04/05 then taking out any of your cats can cause knock/ping/detonation.

See the post by BAN SUVS in this thread:

Basically, if you cause your turbo to spool quicker, or boost more with the stock ECU firmware, then your going to have problems long term.
if you want power, start with EcuTek, or Cobb or something like that.
I am saving for EcuTek cause I don't want to spend the 4+ hours of removing my uppipe.
Buy buy warranty. =(
