I am looking at a 98 Impreza L(2.2L), 2 door, 5 speed with 99000 miles on it. The car has a new timing belt and new breaks. I worked my way down to $5,500 with the dealer. I looked at the kelly blue book and it said the value was $6,700(since it doesnt have a head unit) when I called the bank they gave me a value of $4,700 Through NADA....I went to NADA.com and found a value of $5,000. I do not know what to do. Is this a good deal or should I keep looking?

im sure if u look at the exterior and interior you could make the salesman drop the price. Also make sure you test drive the vehicle. If you can also have another mechanic look to see if this is a mechanically sound car. otherwise the price sounds good if nothing is wrong with the car. good luck

If NADA says the value is 5,000 don't you ever pay a penny more and since its missing something(s) there's reason to drop $100-300 i say go with what you bank says if not less NADA is the bible bluebook is crap anyone could tell you that, its common knowlage that the kelly bluebook is there for dealers to make more money. my uncle (owns a dealership in arkansas) knows that well but uses only bluebook because he makes more money that way! if you want to get a quote yourself go to www.NADA.com put in all the info and there ya go goos luck
