Help.CEL light, trouble code PO546?Suggestions?
I have an 02 wrx with about 13000 miles. As far as engine mods I have a cold air intake, turbo xs BOV, turbo xs MBC, and a 3 inch exhaust from the cat back. With a magnaflow muffler coming off the back of it. I have not had a cel tripped untill the other day. I went to autozone and they did an obd2 plug in and diagnosed it as a trouble cod PO546. Which is "Exhaust gas temperature sensor circuit high input"
What the hell is this. Why would it come on. When the cel came on while pushing a little on the gas while going about 65 in 5th gear. I dont know what this is and I would really appreciate any help.

Who the hell knows where it is, it's almost three years old. But if you are asking about this same code, I can tell you it's caused by a failed EGT probe in the uppipe. If the probe is still in place in either the stock uppipe or an aftermarket one it has probably failed electrically and is an open circuit internally. It's very common for them to go bad after a short time in a catless uppipe.
This code can also be caused by a problem with the wiring to the probe.

Yeah...it's happened the past 2 weekends, driving uphill under moderate loading, and I was guessing it was the EGT probe in my Helix Uppipe, although a friend thought it might be starved a little from clogged injectors = high EGT?
It's been about 2 years since I installed the uppipe and not a single CEL until recently. I guess I'll replace the EGT probe...unless it's waste of time and I should just put in the 2.2 kOhm resistors?

If your uppipe is catless, the probe no longer serves a useful purpose and you should do the resistor mod, and replace the probe itself with a bolt.
For useful EGT readings you need to get an EGT gauge with its own probe mounted in the manifold.
