(financing) your STi
10k down $439 a mth 60mths $170 a mth insurance. i worked long and hard and waited years to own a subaru i watched it go from the 2.5 rs to the wrx then in the last 2 yrs to te sti. i figured ive waited long enough and worked hard enough that its time to get the car i want. but i never would have got it if i had to ask someone else if they think i should i looked it over to see what i could afford talked it out at the dealer then when i knew it was in my reach i went for it. puts a smile on my face everyday i get behind that wheel. id still love to get my hands on a 99 white 2.5rs coupe my original love.... sigh..
Paid 26k cash for my STi hehe. I don't like monthly payments, plus I save money by getting liability insurance only, which I can't do if it's financed.
I'm 27, 1 ticket, and pay 330 every 6 months for insurance. Just a lot better in the long run this way.

I paid cash for mine but in retrospect, I really wish I wouldn't have. Take it from someone who's in school (college), DON'T GET A NEW CAR!!! If you're going to college you won't have the time (or really the motivation) to do what you want with it. I'm so tied up in obligations like studying during the week I don't have time to go mess with it and on the weekend I go to the games and get messed up so it really never gets used. Granted, it is sweet to drive around on campus every now and again but I rarely drive. Save your money and get through school. When you get you'll be glad to have that money saved etc...
PS. if you're going to college getting out without debt is a damn success. I've had help through college but I have friends that have mounted up enough debt in college to buy a nice house when they get out. By the time they pay it off they'll be at least 30 years old and it could have been an appreciating asset rather than years of Natural Light and eating out.
