Finally buying a WRX!

Hey Guys,

I've been a member on here for a while but am finally within a week (Pending the sale of my Jag) going to be hopping into my first Subaru WRX. I have admired the WRX for a long time. I was just wondering if there is anything that I should watch out for when buying a used WRX. I read the recall issues in the stickies but I wanted to see if there was anything else that I should really ask about. I have included a link to the one I plan on purchasing (I know, the rims really need to go). Let me know what you guys/gals think!

Thanks!

Congrats on your future purchase. Seems like a solid bugeye! With the issues, just check the norm and look out for the obvious. (no knocking, ect.)

Welcome to the club!!

+1. The STi is more expensive but you get a bunch of extra goodies.

if you can afford the STis extra coin and extra insurance/monthly payments go for it!

if not, put stoptech brakes, 6-speed tranny, build a 2.5 on the wrx

either one works

Looks like a good find, if the sale falls through, I am selling my MBP Bugeye.

Hope it goes well for you!

Thanks for all the congrats guys! I didn't know they had an STI bugeye in the states. I thought we only got the STI with the 04+ models but I could be wrong? Also I am getting rid of my Jag cause I am tired of making payments. I have 10k cash to spend. Unfortunately no STI's for under 10k

Hey Kevin,

Actually I was going to inquire about yours. It seems this one is sold. I'll send you a PM once I get confirmation on the sale of my Jag.
