Extended Waaranty?
They are usually a waste of money, especially if you buy it from the dealer which is the most expensive way to get it.
You have a powertrain warranty for 5/60K which covers the most costly drivetrain parts.
Better to keep the money in the bank earning interest so it's there to cover any needed repairs down the road, instead of handing it over to the dealer now and letting them float it. Chances are you will not be needing any repairs that cost as much as the warranty.
Of course the above assumes you are planning to keep the car stock or nearly so. If you intend to mod it extensively then you should be prepared to pay for fixing anything that breaks as a result, that isn't what a warranty is for (either factory or extended).
And finally you don't have to make up your mind right away, regardless of whatever the dealer tells you. Legally you have until the expiration of the factory warranty to purchase an extended coverage plan.

I did and wish I didn't
I got the extended for my 2002. The only thing that broke in 100K miles was my rear view mirror. They fixed it. A $200 job that was covered. Whoopee. These are japanese cars...very reliable. Mine was a stage one then a stage two for the past 50K miles. Still going strong.

Your car will be an old POS and the WRX will have been redesigned twice by the time you've used up the included 5yr/60k mile powertrain warranty.
I opted for the extended warranty, my trans let go at 82,000, cost me $100 copay. The trans was like $3000, I think it is worth it. Subaru is one of the few extended warranties that is through Subaru and not an outside deal
