Okay Im almost sure there is something wrong with my 03 wrx, I have had it for about 6 months now and it just recently started making this wierd whistly noise, not like the turbo but something else. The check engine light isnt on but its driving me crazy! Its a dull whistle in every gear and idle. Hard to explain and I probably sound stupid but Im not extremely firmiliar with my car yet so any help is great, thanks.

Edit- I just took a look at the car with my dad and he thinks it could be a compressor or alternator issue, anyone had these problems?

 

could be the belts. take a look at them and check their condition

 

Fuel pump is also noisy that model year. Sit in the back seat and see if the sound is louder, the fuel pump is in the trunk behind the rear seats.

It could also be your belt tentioner going bad. Mine started whistling before the bearing seized and fell apart. I would have that checked out asap.. Good luck..
